Celestina Lopez

Celestina Lopez, 65, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 26, 2021 in Elkhart County. She was born on May 19, 1955 to the late Sabas Moreira Gonzales and Maria Anselma Donis Pocasangre.

Celestina is survived by her loving husband of 38 wonderful years, Eugenio Lopez; daughters, Alberta (Jaime) Adame and Paola Lopez; nine siblings; six grandchildren; and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a few siblings.  

A visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. Please follow Proper social distancing procedures and wear a face mask at all times. A rosary will be recited by the family at 6:30 p.m. with a second recitation at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at noon at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main Street, Elkhart IN 46516 with an hour of visitation prior from 11-noon. Immediately following the Mass, Celestina will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart. Memorial donations may go to the Lopez family to help with funeral expenses.

Celestina was a loving and kind woman who put her faith in the Lord and loved her family above all things. She worked as a machine operator at Carpenter Co. and was a devoted member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church for many years. Celestina was a very giving and generous lady who would go out of her way to help someone in need or donate to local charities. Her family meant everything to her, and she loved when she could spend time with her daughters and her loving husband. Celestina and Eugenio enjoyed their time with one another, especially when they could share a dance or two. In her spare time, she loved to knit hats and sweaters for her family and enjoyed spending time with her many animal friends. Celestina will be missed greatly by her loving family and many friends.

Celestina López, de 65 años, de Elkhart, falleció inesperadamente el viernes 26 de marzo de 2021 en el condado de Elkhart. Nació el 19 de mayo de 1955 de los fallecidos Sabas Moreira Gonzales y Maria Anselma Donis Pocasangre.

A Celestina le sobreviven su amado esposo durante 38 maravillosos años, Eugenio López; hijas, Alberta (Jaime) Adame y Paola Lopez; nueve hermanos; seis nietos; y una gran familia extendida. Sus padres y algunos hermanos la precedieron en la muerte.

La visita se llevará a cabo de 6 a 8 p.m. el martes 30 de marzo de 2021 en Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. en Elkhart. Siga los procedimientos adecuados de distanciamiento social y use una mascarilla en todo momento. La familia rezará un rosario a las 6:30 p.m. con una segunda recitación a las 7:30 p.m. en la funeraria. La misa se llevará a cabo el miércoles 31 de marzo de 2021 al mediodía en la iglesia católica St. Vincent De Paul, 1108 S. Celestina y Eugenio disfrutaron de su tiempo juntos, especialmente cuando pudieron compartir un baile o dos. En su tiempo libre, le encantaba tejer gorros y suéteres para su familia y disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus muchos amigos animales. Celestina será extrañada mucho por su amada familia y muchos amigos.
