Benjamin Elliott Life Story

Benjamin “Ben” G. Elliott, 48 , of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at his home.

Ben was born on March 13, 1974 to Robert and Susan Elliott in Cleveland, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Ben is survived by his wife, Angie Elliott; children, Olivia, Anthony, and Charles; mother, Susan (George) Lanning; sister, Jessica (Douglas) Watkins; brother, Christopher Elliott, all of Elkhart; sister, Samantha (Marcus) Kolar of Villa Park, IL; stepsister, Amy Marshall of Warsaw; exchange student brothers, Odd-Tore Brunsvik of Norway, Lars Henrikson of Denmark, and sister, Claudia Bluethmann of Germany; nieces and nephews, Emmett, Alison, Evan, Jack, Keira and Kelsey; numerous cousins, musical friends/family and bandmates.

Ben graduated from Elkhart Central High School, and received his Associates Degree from Ivy Tech University. He worked alongside his father and brother in their family business until his father's death. He subsequently operated The Music Factory lessons studio with his brother and worked as a music rehabilitation specialist in a program through the state of Indiana. He was most recently employed at Lippert Components.

Music was Ben’s passion. As an accomplished musician, his specialties were guitar, bass, and drums. In his spare time, Ben used his creative genius to design and build his own handmade custom guitars using the exotic or fine woods that he loved.

Ben loved sharing his musical talent with those around him. His love for music was contagious. Ben had the patience and enthusiasm to teach countless people guitar, bass, drums, piano and vocal lessons.  However, teaching his children was what he loved the most. Ben played in various local bands, including Afterlife with his brother, Chris. His most cherished band was Bats Attack, which he formed years ago in creative conjunction with his young daughter, Olivia.

Ben was witty and playful. He had a wickedly funny sense of humor that was only surpassed by his huge laugh. He had a big heart and a kind and loving soul. He was a gentle giant of a man. His loving pinches will be sorely missed by those who loved him most: his family.
