Barbara J. Wilmore

Barbara J. Wilmore, 74, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Hospice House in Elkhart.

Barbara was born on November 7, 1946 in Elkhart to the late Earl Avery II and Jean J. (Scott) Avery. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Jean; former spouse, David Wilmore and brother Earl Avery III.

Surviving Barbara are her children, Ted (Tina) Wilmore and Tina (Steve) Musselman; grandchildren, Danielle Musselman, Trevor Wilmore and Matthew Wilmore; brother, Thomas Avery and 2 nephews and 1 niece.

Barbara was a cook for many years at Pete’s Restaurant. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Barbara enjoyed bowling with her team. In her spare time, she painted trailers in the trailer park. Barbara was an avid Notre Dame and Nascar fan. She could also be found at the Casino playing the slots.   

Barbara was an amazing cook who was known for her homemade pizza and candy. She was a caring mother and grandmother. In fact, she would crochet slippers and give everyone an afghan whenever anyone in the family graduated.

Per the family’s wishes, Barbara will be cremated and there will be no services at this time. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46615 is assisting the family.
