Barbara M. Slabaugh

Barbara M. “Barb” (Tidholm) Slabaugh, 73, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend following a lengthy illness. Barb was born on February 7, 1947 in Elkhart to Bertha DeHoff and Raymond Tidholm. Her parents preceded her in death.

On March 20, 1965, Barbara married Douglas R. Slabaugh at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Elkhart. She and Douglas were married for 37 years prior to his death in 2003.

Barbara is survived by two children, Sherri (Tom) Smead and Jeffery Slabaugh. Also surviving are three grandsons, Nickolas (Chelsea) Glanders, Brandon Glanders and Dylan (Ashley) Glanders; and 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to husband and parents, her significant other Richard Fredrickson preceded her in death.

Barbara was a 1965 graduate of Elkhart High School. She formerly worked at CTS and as a cashier at Osco /Hooks Drug Store.  Barbara was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend, she enjoyed gardening and cooking.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Condolences may be made online at the Billings Funeral Home website.
