Mr. Armando Antonio Sisneros, 59, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at his home following an extended illness on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 12:56 pm. He was born on April 25, 1962 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Joe and Lugardita Sisneros, and went on and married Sirena L. Elswick DeVore of Elkhart. She survives Armando at home.
Also surviving Armando are children Summer (Juan Coronado) Adkins and Shannin (Justin) Gerhold, both of Elkhart; grandchildren Christopher Gould, Gavin, Mackenzie and Reese Adkins and Savannah and Eli Gerhold; and a host of loving nieces and nephews including Amanda, Jose, Octavia, Alisha, Jahaven and Jacory Sisneros. Preceding Armando in death are his siblings Ray, Eddie and Amy Sisneros and Joe Duran.
In accordance with his wishes, Armando is to be cremated and no immediate services or viewing has been scheduled. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family with arrangements.
Armando worked many years in the heating and air conditioning business and in the RV industry. He enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands, so gardening and yardwork just came naturally to him. He also loved to BBQ and have company, so the grill generally came out whenever family was over. The delicious smell of his roasted green hatch chilis would waft up and down the street. Other things that brought a smile to Armando’s face was bowling, visiting the area casino and attending Elkhart’s First Baptist Church with his buddy, Pastor Phil Byers. Armando’s other good church pal, Bob, taught him how to repair and refurbish clothes washers and dryers, a talent which became very lucrative for Armando and Sirena. During his quieter times, Armando enjoyed playing the guitar or watching old ‘60’s and ‘70’s era TV shows like Andy Griffith or Hogan’s Heroes
Memorial donations may be given to Sirena to assist with medical expenses. Friends and relatives are encouraged to leave condolences and memories of Armando by clicking his “Tribute Wall” on his obituary page.
