Anthony "Tony" Michael McDonald

Anthony M. “Tony” McDonald, 38, of Elkhart, was found passed away in South Bend on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 6:37 pm. He was born May 13, 1985 in Elkhart to Gary McDonald of Elkhart and the late Diana (Holderread) Sparr.

Surviving Tony along with his dad are his children Brice Costella and Amelia Henkler, both of Elkhart; his sister Kelly (James) Dibble of Edwardsburg, brother Adam McDonald, Sr. of Elkhart; grandmother Christena Stachowski of Elkhart; Aunt Linda Ragsdale of Elkhart; niece Madison Davis of Edwardsburg; nephew Adam McDonald, Jr. of South Bend and godmother Melissa Hill of Elkhart. Grandpa Harold Holderread precedes Tony in death.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are assisting the family with cremation arrangements. Services will be held at a later date.

Tony was an advocate for nature and loved to be outdoors, as its wide-open freedom appealed greatly to him. Going on long walks gave Tony much needed headspace and helped him connect with himself. He held a passion for being creative and was quite a talented sketch and drawing artist. He also loved to play the ukelele (and was pretty good at it), he enjoyed thinking of unique, useful things and then building them, and he enjoyed collecting unique rocks and gemstones found on his walks; from which he would create beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. And, of course, he’d never turn down spending time with good friends.

Memorial donations may be given to Tony’s family.
