Mr. Zachary Austin Lee "Zach" Evans, 28, of Goshen, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 in South Bend. He was born on April 10, 1993 in Elkhart to Brandt L. (Christa) Evans of Flushing, Michigan and Stephanie (Jason Helmuth) Fisher of Goshen.

Along with his parents and step-parents, Zach is survived by his daughter Brayli Stanfill of Goshen, his sisters Kayla R. (Cody Wagner) Fisher of Goshen as well as Alexis, Hannah and Maya Evans; best friend and former significant other Danielle McClure, and a host of loving extended family and close friends. Preceding Zach in death are his grandparents Teresa Kreczmer, Clarence Webb and Roy and Sheryl Evans.

In accordance with his family's wishes, Zach's life will be celebrated on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart. Visitation will begin one hour prior at 12 noon. Cremation has taken place.

Zach was a loving, non-judgmental, accepting and kind young man who chose to rid himself of things that seemed to be holding him back and instead concentrated on living his life to the fullest. He had a large network of friends, and we believe that it was because of Zach's sincere desire to always try to help those in need that earned him those friendships.

He was in love with the outdoors and relished the times when he could go fishing or mushroom hunting. He especially enjoyed fishing for salmon with his mom's significant other Jason and liked to go canoeing as well although his pal Danielle wasn't too fond of the whole "balancing-in-water" kind of thing! He was very family oriented, and loved having his mom, sisters, friends and extended family around whenever he could. He will be greatly missed for his insurmountable smile and gentle ways.
