IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Woodrow Wilson
Moore
May 12, 1941 – January 29, 2022
Mr. Woodrow Wilson "Judd" Moore, 80, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at Elkhart General Hospital following an illness on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on May 12, 1941 to the late Clifton Moore and Rosalie (Washington) Moore Hayes. On October 19, 1991, he married Denise Griffin in Elkhart and she survives him at home.
Also surviving Judd are his sons Albert Anderson on Elkhart, Darnell (Hannah) James of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Anthony Moore of Indianapolis; a niece Adell Kyle of Elkhart, 14 grandchildren and a host of loving great grandchildren, extended family and good friends. A son, Jerry Gregory, brother Calvin Moore and a grandson all precede Judd in passing, as well as two of the "best dogs he ever had", Sergio and Missy.
Judd's family is conducting a memorial service at The Church Without Walls, 731 Wagner Avenue, Elkhart, on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at Noon (12 o'clock). Pastor Johnathon Brown will officiate. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart has been assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
Judd worked for over for over 40 years for local businesses such as Nickel Molding and Reese Products, but his real love came out when he was able to toss a baited hook into some stream or pond and spend his afternoons soaking up the sun, immersed in his own thoughts, waiting for that bobber to wiggle just a little bit, signifying FISH ON!
Everyone who knew Judd would agree that he loved life and lived every day to the fullest. Whether it was barbecuing with his family, hanging out with his neighbors and friends or getting dressed up to go out dancing with his baby girl Denise, life just made him happy. If nothing else was keeping him busy, he's generally take a minute to catch a football game on TV or detail one of the many Cadillacs that he owned over the years.
Friends and family wishing to make a monetary donation in Judd's memory may do so by sending your contribution to the charity of one's choice. Additionally, please thoroughly browse Judd's obit page, as you are able to leave condolences and memories, post photographs on his memory wall, and order other funerary items in regards to the family.
The End Of My Journey
When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and remember only the smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken; Remember the good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache And remember I've had loads of fun. Forget that I have stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles and won, ere the close of the day. Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day, But in summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lay, And come in the evening When the sun paints the sky in the west, Stand for a moment beside me And remember only my best.
