Woody worked as a wood shop supervisor, but in his heart, he was an outdoorsman, and he always followed true to spirit. His life's calling was to fish, and fish he did. He loved to be out on his boat, and if you were lucky enough to be part of the "crew" for the day, then that would be a privilege worth bragging about. But if he did not catch anything everyone heard about it for days. He also loved to see the children and grandkids fish as well; he was all about seeing happy faces and hearing laughter and squeals of joy as yet another "lunker" was hauled over the side.

Woody was a tough individualist who embraced traditional values and honorable ways. He always meant what he said, and his word was the law. But despite his hard exterior, Woody had a heart of gold and loved to be around those who loved him back. He was an excellent cook, with grilling being his specialty. When his kids and their families would come to visit, he would cook either brats, steaks, or burgers with taters and onions on the grill. He would have Sandy make macaroni and potato salad some of the time.

He was very talented when it came to mechanics and was always tinkering in his garage. He was proficient with anything from trucks to small engine repair and seemed to be able to get just about anything running again as long as it wasn't one of these newer vehicles with a computer. He also liked to be in his garden where he could get lost in his thoughts in the quiet. He enjoyed scary movies and couldn't wait for you to relax so he could scare you, also John Wayne westerns, his favorite music was old school country and loved to come through the house singing Elvis music in his comb. He loved playing video games with his kids and grandkids. Thats when they'd have some of there serious talks besides when they're fishing. He loved their horse Quila, who was very gentle and faithful, he took care of her for many, many years, and never got over her.

Woody will be dearly missed by those whose hearts he touched throughout his life.
