ELKHART — Winston Dale "Hooker" Holley, 69, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday evening, May 10, at Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born Jan. 24, 1945, in Humboldt, Tenn., to William J. and Laura N. (White) Holley.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Michael Holley of Goshen; one daughter, Sarah Holley of Indianapolis; and one sister, Reba (Clifton) Chaney of Valley Head, Ala.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Caroline Chaney, and one brother, William "Bill" Holley.

Dale served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked for the Bayer Corp. for more than 37 years prior to his retirement.

Dale was a lifetime resident of Elkhart. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 599. Dale was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan and enjoyed playing golf often.

A celebration of life service will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Simeri's Beardsley Street Tavern, 1737 W. Beardsley Ave., Elkhart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
