ELKHART — Wilma Lucretia Blocker, 93, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, July 24, at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 17, 1921, in Mishawaka to the late Edward L. and Lillie (Martin) Grant.
She married Jack E. Blocker; they later divorced.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Frances) Blocker of Elkhart, Lana (Ray) Smith of Wakeland, Fla., and Laurel Ann (Peter) Lang of Humana, Wyo.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Martin Blocker; and her brother, Harold Grant.
Wilma retired from Burcliff Industries where she worked in assembly; she formerly worked for Ball Band Corp. (Uniroyal) in Mishawaka for over 10 years.
Wilma was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1944 until her honorable discharge in 1946. She enjoyed reading in her spare time.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may call for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, memorial service celebrating Wilma's life at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Steve Steele will officiate. Graveside services will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery at the Veterans Tower, where the U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Guard and DAV Chapter 19 will render military honors.
