ELKHART -- Willis F. "Mick" and "The Weenie Man" Valleau, 66, of Elkhart, died July 7, 2011, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Jan. 6, 1945, in Bluefield, W.Va. to the late Robert and Imogene (Talbert) Valleau.
Surviving are daughters Crystal (Martin) Lopez and Misty Laughlin of Elkhart; longtime companion Alice Laughlin of Elkhart; stepson David (Deborah) Laughlin of Goshen; stepdaughters Andrea (Richard) Childress of Elkhart and Alison (Bryan) Webb of Virginia; six grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and brothers John (Joanna) Valleau, James Valleau of West Virginia and Adam Valleau of Cumberland, Md.
He served for more than 10 years in the Army during Vietnam and received the Army Commendation, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Good Conduct, National Defense Service and Armed Forces Expeditionary medals. He was a member of Goshen Moose Lodge and an avid reader.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will be later in the veterans' section, Prairie Street Cemetery. Veterans Funeral Care at Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
