Obituary

FORT WAYNE — Willie Lewis Lenox, 78, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Genesis HealthCare-New Haven Center in New Haven.

He was born Feb. 6, 1936, in Fulton, Tenn., to Willie F. and Lillie Mae (Veal) Lenox.

Survivors include one son, Willie James Lenox of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Dolly (Jesus Jr.) Lozano of Elkhart, Lillie Lenox of Elkhart and Judy (Curtis) McBride of Fort Wayne; one sister, Elnora L. Sharp of Muskegon Heights, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Odessa (Barnes) Lenox, and one sister, Fannie Mae Lenox.

Willie grew up in Muskegon, Mich., and graduated from Muskegon Heights. He later moved to Elkhart and was employed at Teledyne Technologies Inc. for nearly 30 years and was employed at Goshen Rubber for 10 years prior to his retirement.

Willie was a member of the Border Club and enjoyed dancing and playing cards with family and friends.

The family will receive friends for two hours prior to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Gregory Gary of New Beginnings United Worship Center will officiate.
