William Sherman Richey, 50, passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at his home.

William was born on November 13, 1970 to William Roger Richey and Phyllis (Bayliff) Ford in Beech Grove, IN. Bill is preceded in death by his father.

Bill is survived by his son, William Richey and daughter, Kayla Richey; mother, Phyllis Ford all of Elkhart; brothers, Aaron Werner, Kevin (Kathy) Werner and Greg (Hilaria) Werner; sisters, Madonna Richey (Carl Muffley) and Kelly (Edward) Fields; grandchildren, Colby James, Bruce Wayne and Autumn Rose Celichowski; step-father, Laverne Werner and fiancé, Shan Tubbs.

Bill was a steel foreman with Power Gear in Mishawaka as well as a painter at Werner Painting. He was a member at Osceola First Baptist Church. Bill was very mechanically gifted. He enjoyed rebuilding motors however he was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. Bill was a loveable guy with a big heart. Most of all, he was a great dad, grandpa and family man.

A Memorial Service for Bill will be at 10:00 am on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Victory Chapel General Baptist Church, 30898 C.R. 20, Elkhart, IN 46517 with Pastors Larry Sonnenberg and Tom Entinghe co-officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be 1 hour prior to the service from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart is assisting the family.
