BRISTOL — William D. "Bill" Horn, 61, of Bristol, passed away at his home of natural causes on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at 6:59 p.m.
He was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Goshen to Burdett and Marjorie D. (Kline) Horn. His father precedes him in death, as does a brother, also named Burdett. His mother survives him in Goshen.
Also surviving are his sons, Cory L. Horn of Marion, Tylor B. (Samantha Feldman) Horn of Elkhart and William E. (Angie) Horn of South Bend; daughter Carrie A. Dunfee of Niles, Mich.; sisters Mary M. (Tom) Rodino of Bristol, Kathy J. (Don) Appolini of Three Rivers, Mich., Rebecca A. Horn of Elkhart and Amanda D. Eymer of Goshen; and seven grandchildren.
In accordance with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside burial of his cremated remains will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Little Pine Cemetery in Goshen. Chaplain Marshall Donegan of the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department will officiate.
Bill was a professional cook in the Michiana area nearly all his life, cooking at such places as Eby Pines in Bristol, Pete's Tavern at Simonton Lake, The University of Notre Dame and several area nursing facilities. He was loved and respected by his family and friends alike.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart. Memorial donations may be given to the family in Bill's memory to his mother, Marjorie.
