Also surviving are children Mark and Kevin (Jessie) Gipson, Jon (Jennifer) Davis, Paula Davis and Terry and Cindy Ogle; grandchildren Sumer, Danielle, Jonny II, Austin, Justin, MacKayla, Jake, Gabby, Caiden, Lisa, and Kari; his brother Joe Gipson, and a host of loving great grandchildren, extended family and good friends. Preceding Bill in death is one brother; his son Jim "Hippy" Gipson and his former spouse Billie L. (Priddy) Gipson. In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has been planned. However, once social restrictions have been lifted, entombment at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum in Rice Cemetery along with graveside services and military honors with Elkhart DAV #19 (of which Bill was a member) and the US Army Funeral Honor Guard will take place at a later date. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family with arrangements. Bill was an independent self-employed plumber by trade, but started his career at Coachman Industries of Elkhart. He served honorably in the US Army, was a member of the Elkhart Hillcrest United Methodist Church, Elkhart Moose Lodge #599 and the Elkhart Disabled American Veterans Post #19. He adored his grand and great grandchildren and loved to spend any time he could with them. He was also an accomplished woodworker, a talented harmonica player and was an avid TV sports fan. When he was able to get away, he would enjoy having a beer with his buddies down at the DAV. Donations in Bill's memory may be given to the Bill C. Gipson Memorial Fund, c/o Bonnie.
