Obituary
ELKHART- William C. "Bill" Ashworth, 72, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 while at his residence. He was born October 15, 1943 in Owens, WV to William E. and Lucille (Caldwell) Ashworth.
On October 27, 2001 he married Dawn L. (Lobsiger) Miller. She survives at home. Other survivors include 1 daughter, Mindi Hyatt of Elkhart; 1 son, Kirk (Hilda) Miller of Elkhart; 1 brother, John Ashworth of Shawsville, VA; 3 grandchildren, Nick Hyatt of Carmel, Cassie Ladd of Lebanon and Zachary Miller of Goose Creek, SC; 2 great-granddaughters, Molly Ladd and Avery Ladd, both of Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill proudly served in the US Navy from 1960 until 1962. He was later employed for several years as a professional truck driver and later worked in the sheet metal fabrication industry for several years prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge 599.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday, January 7th and 1 hour prior to the 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, January 8th at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County in memory of Bill.
