ELKHART — Willa Rae "Billie" Brown, 98, of Elkhart, and formerly of North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 17.
She was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Ottawa County, Ohio, to Rudy and Ettie (Montague) Schmardebeck.
Survivors include her daughter, Marti (Corky) Towne of White Pigeon, Mich.; three grandchildren, Christopher (Yan) Towne of Chicago, Adam Towne of Dowagiac, Mich., and Jon Towne of White Pigeon; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Charlee Ann Towne of Dowagiac, Brooklyn Beachy of White Pigeon and Ian "Haohao" Towne of Chicago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, Robert Twynham, Richard Brown and Robert Eddy; and one brother, Tom Schmardebeck.
Billie was employed by Miles Laboratories for more than 30 years prior to her retirement.
Prior to living in Elkhart, Billie was a resident of North Fort Myers, for more than 25 years.
In accordance with her final wishes, no public services will be held. Cremation is entrusted to Altera Cremation Services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Lights Hospice in memory of Willa.
