ELKHART — Mrs. Wava M. Rodman, 89, of Elkhart, passed away from natural causes at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013.
She was born in Wakarusa on May 12, 1923, to the late Ansel L. and Edith M. (Wise) Miller.
She married Forest W. Rodman on June 29, 1942, in Augusta, Ga. He passed away in Elkhart in 1997.
Also preceding Wava in death were a granddaughter, Toni L. Rodman; a son, Dale D. Rodman; a sister, Alva Rodman; and two brothers, Leroy and Laurel Miller.
Surviving are her sons, Ernest F. (Connie) Rodman and Keith A. (Linda) Rodman, both of Elkhart; a daughter-in-law, Diane Rodman of Farmville, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, where a funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Mike Fisher of Grace Bible Church of Elkhart will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
Wava was a homemaker and sold Avon products for many years. She was a member of Grace Bible Church and Cleveland Township Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary, where she enjoyed assisting in CTFD's annual Jonah Fish Fry. She also liked attending her Thursday morning Bible study class.
