Wanda M. Rowe, 96, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Elkhart Meadows, Elkhart. Wanda was born on May 16, 1926 in Elkhart to the late Hezakia and Mina (Depew) Peffley. She married Robert E. Strukel, he died in 1958, and then married James E. Rowe on March 5, 1966. James passed on October 30, 2018 after 52 years of marriage. Surviving is her son, Randy (Karen) Strukel; stepdaughter, Bethann (Michael) Rowe-Neff; and sister, Erma Rippy.; four grandchildren, Phillip (Courtney) Strukel, Katherine "Kate" (John) Lubbers, Zachary Strukel, Abigail Strukel; four great grandchildren; son-in-law Tom Pavoni, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert and James; daughter, Judith Ann Pavoni; son, Steven "Steve" Strukel, infant son, Ronald "Ronnie" Strukel; brother, Kyle "Bunny" Peffley; sisters, Helen Bankson, Betty Edwards, and Sally Richardson; and grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Strukel.
Wanda attended Elkhart High School and she formerly worked at CTS as an assembler for many years. She was a Godly woman, who loved her children immensely. Wanda was an artist and enjoyed painting, crafts and designing floral arrangements. She loved her flower garden and doing landscaping around her home. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, and always said, " I could dance before I could walk". She also enjoyed wintering in Florida for about 25 years.
Friends may call for 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023 funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, her son Randy Strukel will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Condolences may be made online at www.billingsuneralhome.com
