Wanda Sue Nichols, 70, of Michigan, went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on March 12, 1955, to the late Elma (Goucher) Shipley.

Wanda is survived by her children, Chris Nichols, Mary (Dustin) Tapp, and Andy Nichols; grandchildren, Emily Mitchell, Evelyn Dye, McKenna Sharp, Mason Sharp, and Logan Miller; brother, Keith Niswonger of Granger; cousin, Jean Bowllings of Mishawaka; and her special friends, Buzz, Lori, Albert, Rhonda, Gene Jones, and Debbie Cosey. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Miller and grandson, Tommy Mitchell.

In accordance with Wanda's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. No services will be provided at this time, according to Wanda's request. She will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date.

Wanda was a caring person who worked as a homemaker for most of her life, and at one point worked for a traveling circus as a face painter. She enjoyed cooking and baking while maintaining a clean and organized home. Wanda was a creative artist who enjoyed drawing, painting, and crocheting doilies and flowers. In her spare time, she loved to take it easy by watching Andy Griffith and playing Candy Crush on her phone, sometimes at the same time. Wanda will be missed.
