Wade L. Weldy, 86, of Elkhart, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Esther's House in Elkhart, IN. He was born on December 10, 1939, in Wakarusa, IN to the late Floyd and Marion (Schrock) Weldy.

Wade is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janice Weldy; daughters, Tammy (Randy) Smith and Laura (Dan) Matteson; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Hannah) Matteson, Nathan (Jessica) Smith, Bethany (Tyler) Mowery, Stephen (Anna) Matteson, and Elizabeth (Alex) Arape; 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, Dale (Mary Lou) Weldy. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dorothy Weldy, Harold (Arla) Weldy, Roy (Carolyn) Weldy, and Doris (Don) Walters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at California Road Missionary Church, 29765 County Road 12, Elkhart, IN 46514 with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Dr/Rev Randy Smith. Wade will be laid to rest at California Road Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be given to California Road Missionary Church, where Wade had been an active member.

Wade worked at Western and Southern Life Insurance for 30 years where he traveled as an office manager, trainer, auditor and head accountant. He was a hard worker, learning construction skills through various home remodel projects; and spent many years working the family blueberry farm in Elkhart. He married the love of his life, Janice Rodman on June 10, 1961.

Wade was very involved in the church he attended and dedicated to following the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At church he taught Sunday School, was a deacon for a time, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the Evangelism Explosion program at California Road Missionary church. He was a regular contributor to mission causes. Wade knew how essential the Bible was to his life and would often say, "Read your Bible every day! Stay in the Word!" He and his wife would often "snowbird" in Florida where he remained active in his faith and attended Lanark Community Church. Wade found joy in praising the Lord. He most enjoyed Southern Gospel music and hymns.

Wade was a kind, gentle and caring soul who had quite a sense of humor. He also had a major sweet tooth and would say he "took pies two ways: hot and cold." Wade loved to play games with his family and was up for any game he knew he could win. He enjoyed taking vacations with his family and traveling to different states and countries. Wade was a proud grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his loving family, many friends, and by his church family.
