Virginia L. Wyrick, 70, of Elkhart, departed this life on Monday, August 9, 2021, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. She was born in Union City, Tennessee on September 11, 1950, to the late Billy Anderson and Hallie Mae Massey.
Virginia's memory will be cherished by her loved ones; children, Jerry Massey, Jeffrey (Jonelle) Massey, and Virginia Massey (Lesley) Dudley; stepchildren, Billy Don (Carla), Stephen Lamar (Victoria), and Billy Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and a host of many nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank her niece, Kathy Andrews for helping take care of Virginia prior to her departure. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy D. Wyrick; parents; her brothers, Melvin Massey, Lester Massey, and Robert Massey Jr.; and sisters, Minnie Parchman and Salley Massey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 1-2 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A graveside service at Rice Cemetery will immediately follow the visitation with Pastor James Andrews officiating.
Virginia was an independent woman and hard-working mother who did everything she could to provide for her loving family. She worked at Wood Tech, which later became Patrick Industries, for many years in manufacturing. In her spare time, Virginia enjoyed working on her puzzle books and spending time with Billy when they would watch their westerns together. Virginia will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
