GOSHEN — Virginia "Ginny" Tait, 91, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2012, in her home.
Ginny was born Oct. 9, 1921, in Summers County, W.Va., to Charles Franklin and Hazel (Phoebus) Wiseman.
She married Arthur Robert Tait on Jan. 1, 1943, in Elkhart. He passed away on July 11, 2012.
In addition to her husband, Bob, her parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Sharon J. (David) Grow of South Bend and Shirley K. Yacuk of Fishers; son Larry A. (Barbara) Tait of Holly, Mich.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother James Wiseman of Marcellus, Mich.; and sister Mary Dull of Elkhart.
Virginia, or "Ginny" to her family and friends, was a wonderful homemaker. She was very active in her children's activities such as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H and being a room mother. Ginny was an excellent cook and decorator of fancy wedding cakes.
She was a strong supporter of Concord High School Athletics, especially gymnastics. She was a 37-year charter member of Trail Riders Saddle Club and a charter member of American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services celebrating Ginny's life will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, with visitation starting one hour prior. Pastor David Grow, her son-in-law, will officiate.
Following the services, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert, at Little Pine Cemetery.
Ginny's family would like to thank Hospice and Judy Artley for the care and kindness shown to mother during this time.
The family prefers no flowers. Memorials may be given to Center for Hospice Care Elkhart.
