ELKHART -- Virginia M. Sutula, 92, of Elkhart, died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 29, 2009) in Hospice House of Elkhart.
She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to William Elmer and Mable E. (Gilchrist) Drury. On Feb. 23, 1943, she married Thomas D. Sutula in Bowling Green. He died Sept. 15, 1997, in Elkhart.
Mrs. Sutula is survived by one son, Dr. Thomas (Nanci) Sutula of Bristol; one daughter, Patricia (Andrew) Langer of New York, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Caleb Sutula; and one brother, Richard Drury.
Mrs. Sutula worked at Rossford (Ohio) Ordnance during World War II, and at Cla-zel Theater, Bowling Green. She helped out at Sutula Studio, Elkhart, for many years. She was a graduate of Bowling Green High School and attended Bowling Green State University.
Mrs. Sutula was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Married Women's Club. She enjoyed playing pinochle and dancing.
There will be no visitation and no funeral service is planned. A private gathering will take place at a later date. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., is assisting with arrangements.
