GOSHEN -- Violet Marie (Kehr) Aistrop, 64, of Goshen, died at 9 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 8, 2009) in The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
She was born Nov. 7, 1944, in Goshen to Lloyd and Florence Mae (Smith) Kehr. On Sept. 18, 1972, she married Eldridge Aistrop in Goshen. He died Aug. 12, 1986.
Mrs. Aistrop is survived by two sons, Perry (Lisa) Wissman of Ozark, Ark., and Jeffrey (Karla) Aistrop of Goshen; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Wissman; five sisters, Betty Gunderman, Nellie Norris, Frances Stickler, Mary Ann Kehr and Delores Moseline Kehr; and her former husband, Perry Wissman, who died in September 1992.
Mrs. Aistrop had worked at Courtyard Health Care Center, Goshen, for several years prior to retiring. She attended Full Gospel Community Church, New Paris, and spent much of her free time playing bingo, fishing, shopping and going to yard sales. She loved spending time with her family.
Friends may call from 4 until the 6 p.m. funeral service on Thursday all at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Fred Curry of Free Gospel Community Church, New Paris, will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
