Viola Mae Hatfield, 93, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Woodland Manor Nursing Home.

Viola was born in Marshall Co, IN on July 13, 1932 to the late, Andrew McKesson and Fayette (Rankin) McKesson.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley Kintigh and Rickie Holt, two sons in law, Doug Osborn and Lee Holt, one brother and six sisters.

Viola is survived by her children, Jackie Osborn of Bristol, IN, Jack (Kim) Bowman, Jr., of South Bend, IN, Allen (Jacki) Bowman of Luther, OK, son in law Max Kintigh of Goshen, IN, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Viola retired from Crane Industries in Ohio after many years. She continued working after her retirement, her last place of employment was East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elkhart.

Viola was an avid doll collector, she found great pleasure in the simple joys of life, whether reading a book, doing a puzzle, playing a spirited game of Bingo or enjoying a shopping trip. Many of her favorite memories were made sharing a meal with her family, where she cherished good food and even better company, a favorite place to gather was Callahan’s Restaurant.

Viola loved her family and she looked forward to every visit. Her easy-going spirit and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

There will be no services, an interment will be at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Cemetery in Osceola.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Center for Hospice Care.
