ELKHART — Vincent L. "Roy" Spore, 94, of Elkhart, formerly of White Pigeon, Mich., passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at his home.
He was born Jan. 25, 1917, in New York Mills, Minn., to Fred and Marie (Traver) Spore. On Feb. 15, 1938, he married Louise D. (Mann) Spore in Elkhart. She died May 28, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Roger Spore of White Pigeon and Wayne (Carol) Spore of Elkhart; sister Shirley Ermine of Long Beach, Miss.; two grandchildren, Chrystal (Greg) VanFossen of Guyana, South America, and Travis Spore of Elkhart; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Serena VanFossen, both of Guyana. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Daisy Picker and Vinie Bucher.
He, his wife and son, Roger, were owners/operators of Spore Handicraft Supply Store, White Pigeon.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 30 minutes prior to the 2 p.m. memorial service on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Elkhart Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3601 E. Bristol St., Elkhart.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of the arrangements.
