He was born June 4, 1961, in St. Paul, Minn., to Gerald and Ramona (Windorski) Smith. On Oct. 1, 2000, in Bristol, he married Monica Melton.

She survives, along with five sons, Vincent M. Smith Jr. and Luke Smith, both of Las Vegas, Nev., Kevin and Mathew Smith, both of Elkhart, and Andrew Kil at home; three daughters, Rachel Smith of Elkhart, and Semo Smith and Justine Kil, both at home; three grandchildren; a sister, Theresa (Andrew) Anderson of Bozeman, Mon.; two brothers, Brett Smith of Las Vegas and Morris Smith of South Bend; and his parents, Gerald and Ramona of Bozeman.

There will be no visitation and cremation will take place. A memorial service will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Kathleen O'Connell officiating. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith was a tanker driver before becoming disabled. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an umpire for Bristol Little League.
