Obituary

Mrs. Victoria Sue "Vicky" Constable, 62, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband Jim at her side on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, following an extended bathe with some health issues. She was born on May 15, 1960 in Springfield, Illinois to the late Arthur Dowllar, and later married James A. "Jim" Constable on June 21, 2008 in Elkhart. He survives her at home.

Also surviving Sue is her son, Greg of Elkhart; brothers Patrick and Kenny, both of Illinois; four grandchildren; several extended family members; a couple of good friends and darling little tabby cat named "Kitty Cat", who, at last report, was rather upset with the notion that there was now one less person in the household to love on and pet her. Along with her parents, Vicky is preceded in death by a son, Michael.

In accordance with her wishes, Vicky is to be cremated and returned home with the assistance of Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart. No immediate services or rites have been planned.

Vicky was a homemaker who, if she wasn't relaxing within the comforting confines of her own home (it was her place of mental tranquility), found herself also at home on the back of Jim's Indian motorcycle. Above everything else, she loved to feel the wind in her hair and the sun on her face as she and Jim cruised just about everywhere on the "bike". Whether it be a poker run, charity ride, MDA run, or to celebrate fallen members of the military or emergency services, She and Jim would mount up and hit the road. Together, they were a very loving, proud and patriotic couple.

She was a loving and caring lady who simply adored her grandchildren. She was a great cook, and one habit that she could never overcome was to cook way more than enough food to assure that NO one went hungry. She even went out of her way to take food to others, just in case someone happened to be starving! She didn't need a lot to keep her happy, and the little things in life blessed her with countless smiles and much happiness. Although she enjoyed her peace and privacy, friends and family were always welcome and appreciated at her home.

Friends and family may leave memories, condolences and pictures on Vicky's obit page on the Billings Funeral Home website. Thank you for your interest in her life story!
