ELKHART — Victoria Mae Harmon, 65, of Elkhart, passed away with her family at her side at 3:35 p.m. Aug. 23, while convalescing at a relative's home in Granger.
She was born in Muncie on April 20, 1949, to the late George Sr. and Oletha (Stokes) Ford.
Surviving are her cherished daughters, May Harmon of Elkhart and April (John) Keplinger of Antelope, Calif.; loving sisters Nancy Orebaugh of Indianapolis and Joan Laffoon of Elkhart; beloved grandchildren Zacharias, Zanna, Tyler and Lena; as well as one great-granddaughter on the way!
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Ford Jr. and a sister, Barbara Ford.
In accordance with Vicky's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside committal service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in Little Pine Cemetery in Goshen, officiated by Pastor Randy Pringle of the Deaf Michiana Missionary Church. A celebration of Vicky's life will then be at Elkhart VFW Post 88, 1519 W. Bristol St., Elkhart from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.
Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
Vicky loved to bowl and play euchre. Although she will be humorously remembered as the drill sergeant who ran a tight ship at home, she loved her family dearly and would do anything for them.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on behalf of her family to her sister, Joan Laffoon.
