Obituary

Vernon R. "Spanky" Miller, 64, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, April 7, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

He was born Sept. 21, 1950, in Canton, Ohio, to Isaac M. and Keturah C. (Hershberger) Miller.

Survivors include one brother, Steve (Janet) Miller of Elkhart; two sisters, Bonnie McClure of Orlando, Fla., and Michelle Wheeler of Rochester, N.H.; and father Isaac M. (Minerva) Miller of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Miriam Christine Lee.

Vernon proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was later employed with Behr Control for several years prior to his retirement.

The family will receive friends three hours prior to the 7 p.m. Monday, April 13, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Kenny Rogers will officiate. Cremation will follow at Altera Cremation Services.
