ELKHART — Varian R. Lennox, 91, residing in Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Valley View Health Care Center.
Mr. Lennox was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Hannibal, Mo. He married Anna Mary Day on March 1, 1941, in Elkhart. She passed away Aug. 6, 1999.
Surviving are his children, sons David L. (Carol) of Fort Wayne and Steven R. of Jones, Mich., and daughters Linda K. Hosea of South Bend and Barbara L. of Elkhart. Two grandsons and three great-grandsons survive as well.
His parents, Richard and Lucille DeLong, sister Elizabeth Warner, grandson Danny Parker and son-in-law Joe Hosea preceded him in death.
Mr. Lennox was the owner/operator of Calco Industries, a manufacturer of fiberglass components in Elkhart for many years. Varian was a former member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge and the Elks. Varian enjoyed ballroom dancing and classical music and was an avid musician who played his violin every day.
At his request, cremation will take place.
Memorials may be given to the Elkhart County Symphony Association, P.O. Box 144, Elkhart, IN 46515. Arrangements for Mr. Lennox are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart.
