Tremitchell "Tre" Wright, 64, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at Brickyard Healthcare in Elkhart on Sunday, August 10, 2025. He was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on February 19, 1961, to the late Arother Ratliff and Minnie ola Wright.

Tre is also preceded in death by his son, Adam Wright; his brothers, Bruce and John Wright; and his sister, Gloria. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Wright; children, Hope and Andrew Wright; siblings, Emzie Wright, Emma Wright, Douglas Wright, and Ruby Lee Walker; along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews to cherish his memory.

Tre was a brilliant and hardworking man with a great respect for education. Tre graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Tuskegee University and earned a Master's of science degree in chemical engineering from University of New Mexico. During his collegiate summers, Tre worked as intern at the NASA Glen Research Center studying and creating polymeric membranes. A career man, Tre worked as an Engineer/Lead Engineer for Whirlpool Corporation prior to his retirement.

Tre was an outgoing and gregarious man; Anywhere he went he could bring people out of their shells with his vibrant and welcoming personality. Tre could turn a stranger into a friend with just one conversation. A lifelong scientist, Tre enjoyed being a judge for Eastwood's science fair and loved helping other children discover a love for science.

Tre adored his family near and far. He took pride in his children never missing a band concert, a basketball or baseball game, or any special event. He loved reminiscing about his childhood in Cleveland, Ohio with his brothers and sisters.

Tre was a true gem and will be missed dearly by his loving family and many friends.

Cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. In Elkhart.  In accordance with Tre's wishes, in Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Tre's name to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Elkhart County.
