ELKHART — Toni Ellen Decker, 71, of Elkhart, passed to her rest Thursday, Aug. 18, at her residence.
Toni was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Marion to the late Roscoe "Rocky" and Jeannette (Rice) Sines.
In addition to her parents, her first husband, Stephen Decker and two sisters, Edwina Hayes and Rita Messer preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, daughter Stephani (Joe) Carnevale of Indianapolis; three sons, Don Decker, David (Rachel Davis) Decker and Douglas (Jessica Roberts) Decker, all of Elkhart; seven grandchildren, Joe Carnevale, Valerie (Matt) Keinsley, Gino Carnevale, Gabbie, Devyn, Skylar and Darian Decker; and one great-grandson, Xavier Keinsley.
Toni worked for several years at the Skamper Corp. and for Youth Services Bureau. She then was a co-owner of Woodstock Furniture Co. with her former husband, Don Potterbaum. Toni was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. She was a doting "MiMi" to her grandchildren, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, golf, fishing and doing crafts.
Visitation for Toni will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, where friends may call for one hour prior at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart. The Rev. Matthew Coonan will officiate.
In honoring Toni's wishes, cremation will follow the mass, with burial at a later date at Germantown Cemetery, near Hill Lake.
The family's preferred memorials are to the church.
