IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tom Melton
Moser, Iii
April 18, 1979 – September 21, 2023
Mr. Tom Melton Moser III, 44, of Elkhart, was cut down in the prime of his life by a senseless act of violence on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 3:24 am. Circumstances surrounding his passing are still being investigated locally.
Tom was born in Dallas, Texas on April 18, 1979 to the late Tom M. and Theresa (Zylovhick) Moser, Jr. He later married Stacey Lynn (Hammond) in Elkhart, where she survives at home.
He is also survived by his children Annie Hammond and Joseph "Joe" Moser, both at home and Tyler Guzman of Goshen (who is currently serving proudly with the United States Army); his sisters Lashonda Moser of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Danielle Hammond, Jocelyn (Joshua) Littlefield, Sheira (Joseph) Jones and Kristina Miltenberger, all of Elkhart; aunt and uncles Kenneth and Lori Moser of Enid, Oklahoma and Diane Holt of Elkhart; nieces and nephews Maddison Moser, Stefani Mullens, Joshua McGrew, Joshua Stout II, and Joseph Stout, and a huge host of loving extended family, close friends and acquaintances who will miss Tom very much.
In accordance with the wishes of his immediate family and past discussions with Tom, no immediate services have been planned and cremation is to take place. However, a memorial celebration of Tom's life will take place in the near future and those interested in attending are asked to get in touch with Stacey for the details. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family with arrangements.
Tom was a loving, giving, family-oriented young man who had much, much more to offer from a life that was tragically cut short. Tom was loyal, strong, committed and engaging, and he used these qualities to win himself many friends. His best quality, though, was his sharp wit and sense of humor, which he used regularly to lighten up any situation. He also knew if humor wouldn't affect you, straight up kindness would, so Tom always made an effort to be compassionate whenever he could. He was a great friend to many, and he positively affected a lot of people's lives. All Tom ever wanted was to keep his family happy and be a good dad for his kids.
It is very important for Tom's family to communicate to those reading his obituary that we are certainly not promised tomorrow, and that our lives can change forever in the blink of an eye. Always live within the warmth of love. Never go to bed mad. And live each day as if it were your last. These are the things Tom and his family would want you to remember as they bid their husband, dad, brother and uncle farewell for now but not good-bye. Rest easy, Tom, and to paraphrase a great American general, "We should not mourn the passing of this man, but rather to thank the Almighty God that such a man had ever existed".
Memorial donations may be made to Tom's wife Stacey to assist with the daily care of the younger children. Also, please be sure to browse Tom's obit for other memorial options.
