He survives, along with one son, Cameron A. Sommers, at home; two daughters, Lauren A. and Nicole A. Sommers, both at home; three sisters, Tonia M. (Wayne) Kohout of Granger, Temera E. Mrs. Sommers was a 1986 graduate of Memorial High School and had been with the housekeeping department at The Elkhart Clinic for the past year and a half. She was employed at Robert Weed Plywood, Bristol, for several years before that. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her children, mother-in-law, both grandmothers, and planning family events.

Mrs. Sommers spent much time keeping up her flower and rock gardens and enjoyed the birds that lived there. An avid Notre Dame fan, she enjoyed the outdoors as well as primitive camping at Pokagon State Park or staying at her cabin in Wisconsin. She created all types of arts and crafts.

Memorials may be given on behalf of Mrs. Sommers' three children in care of Billings Funeral Home. The family asks that those attending the services wear brightly colored clothing to celebrate Mrs. Sommers' love of life. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.billingsfuneralhome.com.
