SOUTH BEND — Timothy Alan Martin, 50, of South Bend, passed away Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012, after a pedestrian/train accident in Goshen.
His father, Richard Robert Martin, also passed away Tuesday.
Timothy was born Jan. 19, 1962, in Goshen to Richard Robert and June A. (Ramsey) Martin.
He is survived by daughter Melody Rose Martin of South Bend; mother June A. Rink of Goshen; sisters Susan Maron, Linda House, Kathy (Dan) Lenhart and Gloria Lightfoot, all of Elkhart; brother Timothy Shoffner of Three Rivers, Mich.; and uncle Stan (Ethel) Ramsey of Elkhart.
Timothy was an area musician and guitar player. He was a graduate of Elkhart Central High School and was presently attending IUSB, having recently received an associate degree from IUSB. Tim was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, where a service to celebrate Tim's life will begin at 8 p.m. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Cremation will take place at Altera Cremation Service. Memorials may be given to Timothy A. Martin memorial fund, c/o Billings Funeral Home.
