Tim L. Miller, 75, of Elkhart and formerly of Clermont, Fla., passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness. Tim was born on June 18, 1943 in Lagrange, Indiana to the late Everett and Josephine (Nelson) Miller. Surviving are two children, Daughter Mindi Hyatt, son, Kirk Miller; 3 grandchildren Nicholas Hyatt, Cassady (Matt) Ladd, Zachary Miller; 2 great grandchildren, Molly and Avery Ladd; former wife Dawn Miller; 2 brothers, Ted (Phyllis) Miller, Nels (Roberta) Miller; and 6 nephews survive Tim as well.
Tim graduated from Lagrange High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, where he served with Amphibious Construction Battalion Two (ACB2) SEABEES from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1966.
Tim loved to travel was able to fulfill that passion by working all around the world as a Heating and Air Conditioning Contractor with such global multinational companies as Halliburton Co., Brown & Root and Bendix/Allied Signal.
After he retired he moved to Florida until about 3 years ago when he moved back to Elkhart to be closer to his family and grandchildren.
Services celebrating the life of Tim Miller will start at 3:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., Lagrange, IN 46761.
At 3:00 p.m. the military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Guard and the Lagrange American Legion Post 215. The service will follow. Pastor Ken Weaver will officiate. Per Tim's wishes, cremation was chosen with burial at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Lagrange. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, where condolences may be sent to the family at the Billings Funeral Home website.
