ELKHART - Thomas M. "Tom" Fodrocy, Jr., 73, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at Elkhart General Hospital of natural causes on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at 3:23 pm.
He was born in South Bend on March 7, 1945 to the late Thomas and Ethel (Karacson) Fodrocy, Sr. and is survived by his significant other, Linda Francesconi.
Also surviving is his son, Derek "Rick" (Michele) Fodrocy and grandsons Cody and Taylor Fodrocy, as well as his sister Patricia "Pat" Stauffer.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan 27, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart, with the Rosary to be recited at 4 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart, on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home, then a procession will leave for the church at 10:45 am. The Rev. Patrick Hake will officiate along with The Rev. Glenn Kohrman as co-officiant. Burial with military honors will follow at a later date at the Veteran's Section at Prairie Street Cemetery of Elkhart.
Tom had been working at Conn-Selmer in Elkhart for over 40 years, right up to the time of his passing. He belonged to Edwardsburg Conservation Club was an avid outdoor sportsman who loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the woods. He also enjoyed antiques, spending time with Linda and his son's family, and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast as well. He served honorably in the US Army in Vietnam, and would often volunteer for the Goshen VA.
Memorial donations may be given to the veteran's charity of one's choice.
