Thomas "Tom" Michael Spry, 76, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at his home.

Tom was born on February 12, 1949 in Elkhart, IN to the late, Lester J. Spry, Sr. and Violet M. (Hartranft) Spry. He married the love of his life, Cathy Lynn (McIntire) Spry on Aug.14, 1971. She passed away on May 29, 2022.

He is preceded in death by 5 siblings.

Tom is survived by his son, Jeffrey Michael Spry of Elkhart; grandchildren, Connor Michael Spry and Jennalee Kathryn Spry; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Molly.

Tom graduated from Concord High School. He and Cathy were members of Faith United Methodist Church for many years. He honorably served his country and was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a railroad repair man with Penn Central/Conrail/Norfolk Southern for 31 years.

Tom enjoyed fishing especially if it was on Lake Michigan.  In his early years,  he enjoyed golfing and boating. He was also a mushroom hunter.

Although Tom was serious by nature and had a military mindset, he had a soft side that would often show around his grandchildren.

A Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Violett Cemetery, 2818 Violett Rd. Goshen, IN 46526 with Pastor John Nyota of Faith United Methodist Church officiating.
