OSCEOLA -- Thomas Michael Young Hamilton, 43, of Osceola, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Elkhart.
He was born in Mishawaka on Feb. 24, 1967, to John Russell Young and Sharron Kay (Curtis) Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Alice M. Gibson, son Matthew T. Hamilton and sister Virginia M. (Craig) Alvey, all of Osceola; brother and best friend Johnny of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two stepbrothers; four stepsisters; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew D. Young; grandparents John and Madge Young and Ike and Ilo Soens; and a stepbrother.
Thomas had been employed for several years with various local RV manufacturers. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars, gardening, fishing and most of all, spending time with his son.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. James Pettitt of First Baptist Church of Elkhart will officiate.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to his son, Matthew T. Hamilton, for future college expenses.
