Tom F. Monroe, 76, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on June 5, 1946 in West Arkansas to the late Thomas F. Monroe and Sylvia (Becker) Monroe.

Tom is married to Kathy Clipp-Monroe on November 21, 2017.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents.

Tom is survived by his wife, Kathy; adopted son, Kaden; children, Jeffrey, John and Sherri ; stepchildren, Shaun, Faith, Hayden and Tyler; and step sister and brothers, Penny (John), Trace and Bryce and a host of extended family members.

Tom valiantly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam earning the National Defense Service Medal. He was employed at Walmart in the perishable department as a cap 2 associate for 20 years. Tom was also employed at Westover Ltd. and American Trail Lines. He was a huge Notre Dame Fightin Irish fan and animal lover. Tom enjoyed working with his hands. Working on his White Corvette was a hobby of his. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed playing lottery tickets, riding his Indian Motorcycle and watching Quest Channel on tv. Tom was soft spoken and he adored his wife and children very much.

A Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Roger Dickson presiding.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 4:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
