Theresa "Terri" M. Fister, 75, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Theresa was born on June 19, 1945 to the late John and Elizabeth (Griman) Fister in Elkhart. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Sweazy.

Survivors of Terri include her children, Christopher Holderman of Chicago; Jerome (Wanda) Holderman of Edwardsburg, MI and Melissa (Jon) Wogoman of Elkhart; grandchildren, Destiny, Elizabeth, Ryan, Tami, Chloe, and Henric ; brother, Charles (Judy) Sweazy of Laguna Beach, CA; sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Espinoza of Redlands, CA; sister-in-law, Pam Sweazy of Florida and her friend and former spouse, Jerry (Bonnie) Holderman of Elkhart.

Terri spent her whole life serving people as a nurse in her community in various roles including, IV Therapy, ER, neonatal, surgery, and Nurse and Director of nursing at multiple long term care facilities. She was most recently a phlebotomist at the South Bend Medical Foundation. Terri enjoyed life's challenges. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Sudoku.

Family was the most important aspect in Terri's life and the holidays will never be the same without her. Terri should be remembered as having a big heart and as a supportive friend.

There will be a Celebration of Terri's Life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 5:00 pm in Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. A Gathering of family and friends will be 1 hour prior to the start of the service from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be at St. Vincent Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a tree is planted in honor of Theresa; Although flowers are also welcomed.
