Ms. Theresa E. Marvel, 63, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at 8:15 pm at Elkhart General Hospital following an illness. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 22, 1956 and was the daughter of the late John and Gloria (Hoffman) Gries. She is survived by her former husband and good friend Mark Marvel of Elkhart.

Also surviving are her children Roger (Stephanie Hartwell) Gries, Nickolas (Mackenzie Ross) Marvel and Elizabeth (Issac Tarr) Marvel, all of Elkhart; brothers John (Laurie) Gries of Elkhart and Dan (Rose) Burwell of Fife Lake, MI; sisters Patricia (Don) See of Alamogordo, NM, Kathi (Robert) Kewaygoshkum of Traverse City, MI and Anna Marvel of Elkhart; grandchildren Ryan Tarr and Harlan Marvel, and a host of loving extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by brothers James Burwell and Francis Gries.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering of Theresa's family and friends will be held at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 5-7 pm.

Theresa worked many years as a machinist in the local plastic extrusion business. She was an avid "antiquer" and shopaholic, and just loved to ride around looking for bargains. She also liked to travel, and always enjoyed dreaming of new and exotic places to visit. She was very loyal and dedicated to her children and grandchildren, and always enjoyed the times spent together.  When she able to relax, she could usually be found watching Wheel Of Fortune or Family Feud or playing with her two cats Molly and Sheba.
