ELKHART -- Terry Lee Teverbaugh, 63, of Elkhart, died at 2:05 p.m. Friday (Sept. 11, 2009) in his home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1946, in Indianapolis to Oscar L. and Thelma (Ely) Teverbaugh. On Nov. 6, 1997, he married Amy Waldref Faux in Mishawaka.
She survives along with two daughters, Cassandra L. Teverbaugh of Mishawaka and Chelsea Faux of Elkhart; two sons, Zachary L. Teverbaugh of Mishawaka and Alexander M. Faux of Elkhart; one grandson; and one brother, Rick L. (Terri) Teverbaugh.
Mr. Teverbaugh was the general manager at University Park Mall, Mishawaka, for several years until his health required his early retirement. He loved old westerns, John Wayne and spending time with his nephew and grandson at Pokagon and Potato Creek campgrounds. He enjoyed playing cards and telling stories about his experiences.
Mr. Teverbaugh was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War who served with the 5th Special Forces as a Green Beret.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service with Elkhart DAV Chapter 19 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard rendering military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rice Cemetery. Pastor Len Jepson of First English Lutheran Church, Mishawaka, will officiate.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.
