ELKHART -- Terrell Lee "Terry" Wakeman Sr., 49, of Elkhart, died Saturday (Feb. 19, 2011) at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1961, in Logansport to Frederick and Elizabeth B. (Brock) Wakeman. On Jan. 23, 1993, in Garrett, he married Karen Sue (Helbert) Wakeman. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Terrell L. Jr. and Eric and Glenn Wakeman; two daughters, Debbie and Sarah Wakeman, both of Elkhart; five brothers, Jim Speth and David, Tim, Clayton and Mark Wakeman; three sisters, Judy Hunt of Carthage, Tenn., Kathy Nichols of Logansport and Pam Clark of Kokomo; and four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Rita, Wanda and Sherrell Wakeman.
Terry was a 1979 graduate of Memorial High School and later worked as a welder with Elkhart Steel. He enjoyed fishing and spending time playing X-Box.
A private memorial service took place to celebrate Terry's life. Billings Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
