ELKHART -- Teresa Anna "Teri" Williams, 62, of 1201 C.R. 15 South, Lot 123, died at 6:25 a.m. Friday (March 14, 2008) at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 6, 1946, in Sunbury, Pa., to Charles L. and Stella F. (Fleming) Keener.

She is survived by a former husband, Alvin Berie; two sons, Charles A. "Chuck" Berie of Elkhart and Robert L. "Robbie" (Jennifer) Williams of Mishawaka; and two grandchildren.

Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is handling arrangements. There will be no visitation or funeral and her remains will be cremated. A memorial service is pending, then her remains will be taken to Pennsylvania for burial.

Mrs. Williams was a 1965 graduate of North Umberland (Pa.) High School, where she was a baton twirler for the band. She spent most of her life as an assisted living caregiver for mentally and physically challenged children and adults. An injury in 1980 forced her to retire early, though she continued to help out at Greencroft and Bashor Home when she could.

She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching and crafts, as well as rooting for Penn State University teams.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and helping out others.
