Teena Marie Barnette, 58, of Elkhart, passed away following an extended illness at Franciscan St. James Memorial Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 at 4:45 am.

She was born in Mishawaka on Aug. 07, 1957 to the late Wayne and Jacquetta (Martin) Barnette. Also preceding her is a daughter, Tiffany, and brothers Michael and John.

Surviving is her fiancée William "Bill" Fant, at home; sons Devon Fant and Antione Bates, both of Elkhart, sister Belinda (David) Dalke of Mishawaka and a brother, Gary Barnette, of Marcellus, MI.

Friends and family may gather at the Elkhart Salvation Army, 300 N. Main St., Elkhart on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Majors Nick and Jody Montgomery will officiate. In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place and Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart assisted the family with arrangements.

Teena had worked at the Bercliffe Corp. of Mishawaka for 14 years. She was also an active member in the Salvation Army and enjoyed cooking, and crocheting.
