ELKHART - Tawhni LoLene Stouder, 28, of Elkhart, passed away after a lifetime struggle with mental illness Sat., Feb. 25, 2017 at her home. Tawhni was born on Jan. 27, 1989 in Goshen.
Surviving are her parents, Mark A. (fiancée Kristi Pietrzak) Penny, LoLene R. Stouder; brother, Zachary Stouder; two sisters Aleyah Penny and Ashley Downen; nephew Zackary Curtis; uncle Jack (Stephanie) Stouder; aunts Gloria Neff and Joy (Pat) Duff, Deborah (Jim) Julien; and grandmother Ada Stouder. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Jack Stouder, her grandmother Betty Penny and uncles James Alvin Summey, Randell Keith Stouder.
Tawhni attended Ivy Tech, graduated from ECHS and worked at Tenneco as a punch press operator. She was down to earth, an avid animal lover, and former 4-H member. She enjoyed doing crafts, making candles, and other homemade do-it-yourself projects. Celebration of life services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with 1 hour prior visitation for immediate family on Saturday, Mar. 11, at Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, 10955 Edison Rd, Osceola, IN 46561. Pastor Gail Miller-McKee will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. The family has requested a motorcycle escort to the services, all willing riders are gathering at 8:30 a.m. at Signature Lanes 1180 Fremont Ct. Elkhart; leaving promptly at 9:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home.
